Sailing at Block Island

Block Island

With 17 miles of beautiful beaches lining the perimeter, including Crescent Beach, and over 25 miles of walking trails spread throughout, Block Island is a nature lover's paradise. It's no wonder so many couples choose the island as their wedding destination. If you find the walking to be too much, mopeds and bicycles are popular alternatives for getting around the island. There are over 50 shops and art galleries to peruse, and plenty of restaurants serving up fresh local seafood.

Crescent Park Carousel

East Bay

The East Bay region of Rhode Island is full of outdoor recreation, including beaches, parks and bicycle paths. The East Bay Bike Path is a 14.5 mile trail that follows an inactive railroad track along Narragansett Bay between Bristol and Providence. Kids will love riding on the old Crescent Park Carousel in Riverside. In Bristol, families can visit the Coggeshall Farm Museum, a living history farm, where they can learn about past farm life.

Newport Shops

Newport

Newport is very well-known for its historic Gilded Age mansions, but is also full of colonial heritage, showcased by all the homes in the downtown Newport Historic District. For a cultural visit to the past, make sure to stop in at some of the historic museums, such as the Museum & Shop at Brick Market. In the summer months, many festivals are held in Newport, including the Newport International Boat Show and the Newport Folk Festival. To get a taste of nature, take a stroll along Cliff Walk, which combines the beautiful shoreline with Newport’s architectural history.

Providence Waterfires

Providence & Warwick

Providence's most popular event is Waterfire, a bonfire event with music and performances in the background of it all. This city is also home to the Providence Bruins hockey team, so if you're in the area maybe you can catch them playing at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

The Blue Dory Inn

South County

The South County region of Rhode Island is full of charming villages. Take a trip to Historic Wickford Village, where you'll find streets lined with unique shops and cafes. Head to the ocean when you visit Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, one of the most popular beaches in the state.
